Queens Park, Bolton

Town centre park with a nice variety of terrain. The park holds a lot of water, and being on a hill, is inevitably wet and boggy on the lower slopes. Used for past three seasons, with slight alterations each time, still searching for perfection. Use of Bolton Lads & Girls club will offer a welcome shower to cleanse the body and soul (what?). Get ready for an up hill start and having to pedal downhill (yes!). Venue for the Inter Area Team Championships in January 2004, won by Matt Ellis.
Top Tip: Watch out for Headon’s Hurdles!
