Go-Ride Racing: Cyclo-Cross comes to Manchester

In November 2009 Go-Ride Racing will start at Clayton Vale Park for the new Cyclo-Cross season. Go-Ride Racing events are designed to offer entry level, local competition for young cyclists under the age of 16; strictly aimed at novice riders, without a racing license. Why?

Go-Ride Racing is to be used for novice riders who are looking to step up to regional level racing, each Cyclo-Cross event in Manchester will lead to open regional events in the North West. Riders will develop their skills in a non competitive coaching session (week 1), use their skills against others in their own age category at Go-Ride Racing (week 2), and have the opportunity to progress from these races to open regional events.

Go-Ride Racing has many benefits for young riders; they include:

Introduction to racing: developing rider’s application of skills learnt in Go-Ride coaching sessions within the club.

Silver Membership and Racing License: all riders that progress from Go-Ride Racing into open regional events will receive free Silver British Cycling Membership.

Continuous Personal Development: Go-Ride racing in year two will be open to clubs to run, all club coaches have the opportunity to develop their knowledge of Cyclo-Cross, coaching in a challenging environment, and officiating at events.
