Round 5 – Port Sunlight Wheelers ‘Cross / Bebington Oval – Preview

Once again, the Port Sunlight Wheelers welcome you back to The Oval, Bebington for another day of racing with the NWCCA on Sunday 22nd October

All races will once again be held on the fields behind the Oval, with a very similar course to previous years but with a few little tweaks & adjustments to make the most of terrain. However, it won’t be the fast dust bowl of previous years due to the rain of late so you can expect the hard ground of last year to be a little bit softer this time round. The pits have been improved to create more room for bike changes & cleaning

Signing on will be located behind the Oval Grandstand this year and will be close to the start/finish area. This will be signposted for you from the main car park. Please bring the correct money if possible & a smile for the signing on team

The Oval (CH63 7LF) has a large car park which is within a few minutes walk of the registration area.

On street parking in Higher Bebington Road or Town Lane is also available near to the course too. Please park responsibly at all times and if parking on a residential street, please be mindful of local residents

If you do intend to use these post-race, then we ask that you remove your muddy shoes before entringthe Again these will be signposted & are near to the registration tent

The venue is a roughly 2.5miles from J4 of the M53 & about 1.5 miles from the A41

For those family members coming along who aren’t racing, the Oval is a fully equipped Leisure Centre with a host of facilities to use whilst the racing takes place.

If you’re planning to bring a gazebo we ask that you put these up in the allocated area, which is right along the course & more importantly very close to Coffee on the Hoof and their nice hot drinks & cakes, Ruth Taylor and her selection of woollen goodies and the Frog Bikes Demo tent.
