Message from Dave Brailsford and the guys at Horwich CC
THANK YOU to those of you who joined the Horwich Team on Sundays 3 Tower ride. We had a great afternoon (9 hours for some!) tackling the west Pennine Moors and ever changing weather conditions. We will organise a similar event in the near future and we hope that more of you can join us. The ride is open to all ages and abilities and proves to be a test of body and mind!
A training ride is being organised by Horwich CC this Sunday 23rd September.
It starts from Rivigton Lower Barn Cafe at 9.30am .
It is an off-road social training ride, not an organised cyclocross event; as such there is no insurance for it, and it costs nothing to come along.
The ride will take about 4hrs – mostly off road. It is VERY scenic, purple heather, views to Southport, Pendle Hill, Wales and the 3 Peaks!!!! THe course is similar to the 3 Peaks but much more ridable, the hills are not as steep but it is hilly! It’s an enjoyable test, it catches up on you bit by bit, taking in Rivington Pigeon Tower, Ramsbottom Peel Tower and Turton Tower.
Bring a cape and helmet and food in your pockets. Cross bikes are generally best, MTBs okay.
Foodlit Glenburn training sessions will start this Thursday at Glenburn High School,
Skelmersdale Town Centre.
Meeting 6.30 to 6.45, warm up running & stretching, cycling proper from 7.00 till 8.00. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org“>Ray Pugh for more details – or just turn up. With Saturday races the sessions will be lighter and an ideal warm up.
The sessions will run until mid November as the ground gets too wet thereafter. No charges are levied unless we have to book and pay for the lights.
