National Trophy Round 3, Mallory Park, Leicestershire

In some appalling weather conditions and over an exceptional course in wet mud, the NW again enjoyed a good day in the latest round of the national trophy.

With two strong foreign riders taking the first two places, Lewis Craven’s 5th and Rob Jebb’s 6th (both Wheelbase/ Gore Bike Wear) were excellent results at this level. The down side was Paul Oldham’s disappointing 10th after suffering from the driving, freezing rain.

Roy Hunt (Kinesis) braved the elements again to take first place in the over 50 vets, with his daughter Amy retaining her National Trophy lead with third place on the day.

Melissa Bury (Eastlands Velo) finished 9th in the Youth girls event, taking her to 6th in the trophy standings so far.
