South Park, Macclesfield

A modern day classic. Several variations have been used on the same theme, a fast, close racing course. Used for the Macclesfield Wheelers event in October, and of course the well supported Supacross between Xmas and New Year, when the top riders are desperate to race before the National Champs, a week or so after. If its dry, its super (or Supa) fast, when its wet, its still supa fast, but very very wet (and freezing cold!!) One steep run up and a couple of other hurdles are the main challenges, as well as the lung bursting rideable climbs. A nice wide start soon narrows to a chaotic series of hairpins until the course opens up again. Top Tip: Have a refreshing dip in the lake after to cool off – nice !
