Evans Cycles Manchester Youth & Novice Series Round 3, Clayton Vale, 3 November 2007

The 3rd event of the Evans event took place on Saturday 3rd November with the best attendance of all three events. The feature of the series has been a new course for each event. The course planners has been at work with the U14 / 16 / Adult course including a 32 steps over which the bikes had to be carried and a fast technical down hill rollercoaster section.

There was little time for recovery in the 5 minute laps. The U12 course was shorter but still included 12 steps.

The winners from this event where Sam Turton from Ribble Valley in the U12 and Lewis Burke from Macclesfield Wheelers. There was also a ‘lucky dip’ prize draw so all entrants where in with a chance of winning

The facilities at this end of Clayton Vale are excellent with the local community group setting up a cafe in the newly refurbished community centre which has changing and toilets – the only limitation is parking

Big thanks to Mark at Evans Cycles, Manchester, who put a huge amount of work in getting the event off the ground and providing the £300 of gift certificates as prizes. They have committed to running the event next year
