Red Rose Olympic – Preston Guild Cyclocross – Preview and Note from Organiser

Colin Humphries has sent us this update:

It’s been touch and go whether to cancel due to the condition of the park! The Preston Guild celebrations have left the park in a bad way.  The site has had a number of large concert stages and screens in place for a number of weeks.  Contractors are continuing to clear the site – see the image of what it looked like last night, still lots to clear.  THE RACE IS DEFINITELY ON. We are going ahead but I don’t have a large team of course builders so it will take some extra time on the morning to work out suitable alternate routes .  I would be very grateful to all competitors for their patience in the morning as the course build may take longer than in previous years.  Thank you for your support.

Facilities and Course Details

All competitors should park at Christ the King High School.  Once parked walk around the back of the school building turn left and make your way through the opened gates and straight on to the venue.  You will pass the shower block on your left as you make your way to the course.  See course map for full details and Post Code for Sat Navs.  The car park and surrounding residential area is not suitable for large motor homes.  Please do not clean bikes in the school car park – we need to leave it as we find it.  There will be no parking available within the park itself so please do not enter the park along the footpaths this is for council and race officials only.  We have had to submit car registrations for these vehicles, any non-official vehicles will be asked to move.
