Round 3 Preview: Velocity ‘Cross – Sunday 7th October
After a few years absence from the NWCCA calendar, this years Velocity Cross returns to Philips Park, Stuart Street, Manchester, directly opposite the National Cycling Centre (Velodrome).
Unfortunately we won’t be having a ‘Roubaix’ style track finish but with the help of the Park Wardens we will building a course to remember, with a very tough uphill tarmac finish which has been christened the ‘Philipsberg’ which will test everyone’s legs and lungs.
There will be a mixture of sweeping parkland sections together with technical and off camber turns. This is a cat ‘A’ event. There will be a full program of events for Youth and U12s and race commentary with dulcet tones of Mr. Ian Bury
Changing room facilities in the NCC will be open, together with the café and bike shop. Signing on will be in the NCC foyer, just a couple of minutes from the course. Please also note we are scheduled for a 1.15 start to the main race
