Preview: Macclesfield Wheelers Cyclestore.co.uk Supacross
Macclesfield Wheelers Cyclestore.co.uk Supacross is the penultimate round of this years NWCCA season. We are once again in the centre of Macclesfield at South Park which enjoys a challenging course with views to Macclesfield Forest and the Peak District beyond.
The event is always a firm favourite with the league regulars and also riders visiting from other areas, notably Yorkshire and the Midlands. The proximity of the event to the Nationals gives the top riders the opportunity to test their form and challenge for the excellent prize fund on offer!
The course will be longer in length than last year and also utilise double pits. Start and Finish areas are unchanged. We will have Current/Ex National champions and National Trophy riders racing so please pay due attention to the commissaries instructions with regards gridding at the start and ensure you are in the correct box/area – thank you.
The league will once again be trialling the use of Transponders. Please listen carefully to the instructions given at signing on with regards which ankle to fasten to, and any corresponding apparel matters. As is the norm we will also be using race numbers and ‘physical’ judging will be in place. Sign on is in the Pavillion as last year. There will be Race Commentary as usual from Bill Beagley.
Refreshments/Cakes will be available in the Pavillion where the inaugural Great Macclesfield Wheelers Bake Off competion will be underway. Come and sample our fantastic cake efforts!
Please note there is to be NO PARKING ON ANY GRASS VERGES on Park Grove at the entrance to the main car park near the pavilion. Any vehicle parked on the verge will be required to be removed immediately – Please do not take offence!
Parking on the edges of the grass field on Poplar Road is permitted. Alternative car parking can be found on Ryles Park Road which has a pedestrian/cycling access direct to the Pavillion. UNOFFICIAL parking is at the Macclesfield College but note there is no formal agreement in place and car owners park there at their own risk.
Merry Christmas everyone from Macclesfield Wheelers and happy racing!
