Preview: Port Sunlight Wheelers / NWCCA Round 6
Port Sunlight Wheelers are your hosts for Round 6 of the NWCCA 2015/16 League. The racing will be contested on the fields behind the Oval, Bebington in the shadow of the old grandstand which had a starring role in the film, The Chariots of Fire. The first time a Cyclo Cross race has been held in this location.
The course will be fast and as such, we’ve made it as wide as possible in places to allow safe overtaking, but there are also a few little twisty sections, 2 sets of boards and nasty cambers to test your bike handling skills.Puncture hazards are minimal, so to qoute Dave Headon “so bring your best tyres, and run the pressures of your choice.” Spectators will never be far away from the action, or butty van
If you are bringing a jet wash for the pits, then please use these responsibly & only in the designated area.
We have use of the Leisure Centre as the Event HQ for race registration (please no muddy shoes). Race HQ will be in the Cricket Pavilion, and is for the use of race officials only. Changing and shower facilities are available too, and these are located close to the start/finish area. Marshals will be on hand to direct you each location. We have a secure area to leave your bike in whilst you use the changing facilites.
For those pre-pinning their arm numbers, please put them on the RIGHT sleeve
Even though the Oval is a Leisure Centre with over 300 parking spaces, you may need to use the local streets to park on if you’re racing later in the day. There will be marshals in the main car park to direct you to alternative parking if neccessary. Please respect the local residents if using the streets for parking.(see attached map for more detail)
There will be direction signs from the M53 & A41 (flouro yellow with black arrow) to guide you to the Oval or for those with SAT NAV, the post code is CH63 7LF
We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday, not only for a great day of racing but also a good day out too
