Geoff Bewley Memorial ‘Cross 2016 – Preview
In its 100th year Liverpool Century Road Club welcomes the NWCCA Round 9.
The second event to be held at Otterspool Park this year; however a different challenge will be faced. The leg breaker that is known as the ‘Muro Di Otterspool’ will be featured again, feared by some, relished by others. You’ll also have the laconic tones of CX master (at falling off his bike) Geraint Parry to keep you company.
The usual mix of planks, short climbs and technical sections will balance against a couple of long drags to sap the legs on rain soaked field. This is Otterspool so there will be some tighter sections but hopefully they are limited as can be. Course maps are shown may be subject to change slightly on the day depending on ground conditions.
Sign on will be in the Otters Cafe, please ensure you are signed on in time as we need to close entries at least 20 mins before the race start to get the data to the transponder system.
A warning to all entrants, we have been told not to park on the grass opposite the main field as Citysafe had CCTV there at the last event and lodged a complaint to the council. There will be signs to remind you. There are numerous car parks along the prom so please consider those first. If you are local please think about riding to the course. The local Police may open the gate at the far end of the road later in the day to make leaving easier, this brings you out onto Aigburth Road. Listen out for an announcement on the day if this is happening.
We will issue prizes on the day, however timings are tight so if you need to collect a prize before the presentation please speak to the team on the PA. As always we are kind enough to receive sponsorship and prizes from
BIORACER, SECRET TRAINING, PICTON CYCLES, KALAS, CONQUISTA, STICX, LOCKWOODS, QUINNS BIKE CENTRE, THE HEATING & BATHROOM CENTRE, DAMIAN FIELD ARCHITECTS & ETF NORTHERN
We look forward to seeing you on the day, if you have any queries please drop a line to mikefugaccia@googlemail.com
