Preview: Macclesfield Supacross – 01 October 2023
The Macclesfield Wheelers look forward to welcoming you to South Park on Sunday 1st October for the return of the Macc Supacross. The closing date for entries is Tuesday 26th September at 23:55.
We have a newly designed course that takes in more of the park’s features (including the hill!) whilst navigating its way around the enhanced ecology areas and off-camber golf bunkers. As ever, it’s a fast and firm course but with a little rain it can soon become greasy, although it’s rarely muddy. The courses for the Under 12s, Under 10s & Under 8s will be focussed on the flatter gradients that are viewable from the centre of the course and the finish area. We have medals and prizes for the kids races.
The course will feature double-sided pits. We ask that you do not use petrol jet washers in an effort to reduce our impact on the park. Electric-powered jet washers and old-fashioned buckets of water generally use less water and make less mess; they are welcome (should they be needed at all). Please respect the local residents, other park users and the park’s ecology areas. Should you need to clean-off your bike or kit, then please do so in the park and not where you have parked.
Parking is available at Macclesfield Learning Zone (SK11 8LF), from where you will be signposted to the park and the course. Sign-on will be provided at the bottom of the park by the BMX course. There will be catering vans in the park and we will be providing temporary loos in addition to the facilities available at the pavilion.
