Whitton Park: Travel, Access and Parking
Existing Pay and Display parking will be used in Whitton Park – this is good news all-round, as the £2 / all day rate is reasonable, simple, and helps contribute revenue to the council who are hosting us. You can use contactless or cash at the pay machine.
It is likely that, in 2026, people travelling to any cycling event will be perfectly aware of how to find the event, due to their frequent SatNav use for other cycling events, but you are STONGLY ADVISED TO READ THE NEXT BIT because if you are late for your race, don’t say we didn’t warn you!
The event coincides with the Blackburn 10k run, and event competitors should NOT to attempt to access the venue from
- M65 Junction 5 if travelling from the North East, East or South East
- M65 Junction 3 if travelling from the West, South or South West
Navigating to the venue by SatNav from the direct north of Blackburn will not be affected by the 10k route, but our best advice for most other directions is to IGNORE THE SATNAV and head in / pick up Satnav from M65 Junction 3. It is around 5 to 6 minutes easy drive from there.

- Signs will be shown (right) at the car park, to warn non-event visitors of the event.
- Parking is shared with the general public for the day.
- The event takes place at a weekend exclusively, which reduces the risk of commuter journeys / traffic issues.
Traffic Lights control access to and from the venue - Competitors will arrive at different times of the day, thus reducing the chances of pinch-points in traffic
