Pignut Hill, Northwich
A good mix of wide grass and testing woodland. Because of the amount of grass, it could be lightening-fast or a mud bath…. keep an eye on the weather before this one. Trees are put to good use on the open section of informal parkland, and the tapes loop and turn you around these natural obstacles to make a fairly modern style course.

How to get there:
Pignut Hill is at the southern end of Greenbank Lane, which is off the Chester Road out of the middle of Northwich.
From Manchester on A556
Take A556 past Knutsford, straight over roundabouts heading towards Chester, Over ”Blue Bridge” and take first right at Traffic Lights into School lane (Hartford). Continue down one way street (side of church). Turn right at T-Junction. At traffic lights continue straight through on A559 Chester Road. At second set of lights turn right into Green Bank Lane.. Find a park in the lane. Race HQ is in open grass area at end of lane.
From Chester on A556
A556 towards Manchester. Straight through traffic lights (crossing A49). Through Sandiway, past the ”round tower” and down the hill on Dual Carriageway. Turn left for Hartford onto A559. Past station, past row of shops on the right, past church on right. Straight through first set of lights. At second set of lights turn right into Green Bank Lane. Find a park in the lane. Race HQ is in open grass area at end of lane.
From M56
Come of motorway at Junction 10. Follow A49 towards Whitchurch. Continue to first set of traffic lights at Little Chef and turn left onto A553. Follow A533 through Barnton, and on down the hill to a swing bridge (with traffic lights) turn right over swing bridge still following A533. At next set of traffic lights go straight through. Continue up hill. At top of hill turn right at Traffic lights onto B5374. At traffic lights at end of the road turn right onto A559. Continue to next set of traffic lights (immediately after Green bank station) turn left at these into Green Bank Lane. Find a park in the lane. Race HQ is in open grass area at end of lane.
