NW dominate in National Trophy round 1
It was a dream start to the British Cycling national trophy for the North West, scoring wins in three of the major events.
Int he senior race, Paul Oldham took the national trophy win he has waited 11 years for, with Rob Jebb starting his season with the third place on the podium he vacated last January in Derby.
Amy Hunt took the honours in the women’s race, whilst father Roy Hunt once again romped away to win the over 50s veteran race.
On the down side, with the withdrawal of Jonny McEvoy from ‘cross this season to concentrate on the road next year, the NW were worryingly unrepresented at Junior and U23 levels.
