Update and Race Info Horwich CC / FUJI Cycles Humdinger ‘cross No1

This in from Dave Headon – in advance of this Sunday’s ‘cross at Leverhulme Park, Bolton:

• We will be using the changing rooms that adjoin the athletics track, and are part of the stadium (not the Premier 5’s building that we often use.)
• There is tarmac car parking, please make sure you don’t leave bikes unlocked on cars, we’ve not had any bikes stolen for many years and we want to keep it that way for you all!!
• The course/s is/are the same as we used in Oct 2009, which were well received by riders, a mix of grass, tarmac, gravel tracks and one set of steps.
• We aim to tape off the whole course as usual.
• Three of us have trained on the course this morning, it’s all ride-able, and the grass has been cut this morning. It’s the type for course where it will start to wear you down on the grass as the laps pass.
• The wide long and straight grass start area remains, and will make for an impressive charge as usual, it is a bit soft and damp, but will still be pretty quick
• We aim to offer a wide range of cash prizes in line with what the BC guidelines state.
• All are welcome as always, we would like a big entry in all races, and the course is wide as usual to accommodate easy overtaking, and for everyone to enjoy their racing.
• There are no rocks or sharp objects in the ground, so running tyres at low pressures should be no problem.
