Exciting Opportunity up for Grabs

As some of you may have heard I am stepping down as NWCCA League Secretary after this weekend. Increased work commitments and family life have led me to make this decision.

I’ve been secretary for 2.5 years and involved with organising NW cross events for over 5 years. In 2013 we had a total of 200 Seniors, Juniors, Veteran and Women registered league riders. In 2015 we have over 200 Veterans and Women alone!

The increase in numbers brings more challenging issues such as the search for venues to cater for the amount of riders (plus their cars) and how to actually sign on and produce results for over 300 riders we regularly have in attendance.

We have brought in the chip timing system which is helping; we knew there would be issues which we are working through. For the last 2 events the system has been very reliable with issues being down to human error – both volunteers and riders!

We have some really enthusiast riders in the NW cross league who have some great ideas on how we can improve the league. I urge these people to step forward and volunteer to make these ideas happen rather than post them on Facebook and Twitter.

It is essential that the core group of NWCCA volunteers increases in the next few weeks to keep the league moving forward and improving. If you can give up a couple of races a season to help please do, it will make a huge difference and you will get a nice warm funny feeling knowing you are helping to make these events happen.

If you would like more information regarding the secretary role or to get involved in another way please speak to either Alan Cook, John Gillmore and Len Woffindin at any league event or drop them an email via info@nwcca.org.uk

Finally, thanks to everyone who has made my time as secretary mostly enjoyable!

Cheers
