Round 2 – Weaver Valley / Northwich ‘cross … event preview

The Weaver Valley Cycling Club extend a warm welcome to all racers and spectators to this year’s Northwich race. You know the drill by now, but here’s a last bit of information to get the best out of your day.

Car Parking.

All racers and spectators are asked to park in the St Nicholas High School grounds. If you need to drop off bikes and kit, please then take your car up to the school, It’s signposted from the entrance to the estate. Parking on the estate roads somewhat annoys the locals, if we get complaints to the council there’s a chance we will loose the venue, which would be a shame.

On the Field.

You’ll find the signing on in the large tent, coffee and cake at the catering van, first aid, (please don’t give them a hard time this year!) and toilets at the end of Greenbank Lane. We are also welcoming a couple commercial stands this year, Scruffy Dog are joining us to sell knitted goods, and Kids Racing will be on site with their range of youth clothing and kit. Everyone can go home warm and stylish.

Prizes.

Under 8, 10 and 12 years race winners will have their prizes presented on the day as soon as possible after all these races are finished. For other classes prizes will be distributed by PayPal as last year. Please keep an eye on the NWCCA website for the list of prize winners after the event and instructions for claiming your winnings.

The course.

Will be our usual zig-zagging around the field with trips through the trees for the main races. Juniors and kids will be shortened versions of the main circuit. The council have just begun renovating the kids playground, so slight changes to to the course after the start/finish area may be needed.
