Preview: Macclesfield Supacross, 2 January 2022 – NWCCA Round 8
After a Covid enforced hiatus the Supacross is back. Normally held during Christmas week, this year’s event takes place on Sunday 2 January 2022.
The now iconic venue of South Park in Macclesfield will no doubt see messy and action-packed racing after a mild, damp spell, and the all-grass course has been tweaked year-on-year to make the most of tricky corners and nasty sharp accelerations – for all age categories.
For obvious reasons we are running things a little differently this year, so please take note: Sign-on will be in the park itself – look out for the gazebo located near the skate park. ALL parking though needs to be at the Macclesfield Learning Zone. The course is a 5min walk away via Ryles Park Road -DO NOT PARK ON PAVEMENTS OR VERGES, ONLY IN PARKING BAYS!
Race Times – PLEASE NOTE
As with the last round, we’re struggling with daylight late in the day, so the Elite and Junior men’s race will commence 15 minutes earlier than usual – and starts at 14:30.

Event Sign on
…will be in South Park SK11 8AD, but please use the parking at Macclesfield College (SK11 8LF) – Please Note sign on on closes 25 minutes before each race with gridding 15 minutes prior to the race start times. Please allow enough time to sign on.
Changing and toilets
There are no changing rooms – Portable event loos available near sign on in the park (do not use the bushes)

We will pay prizes by PayPal.

Please respect social distancing and feel free to wear a mask.
The course
The course will be similar to 2019 and will incorporate double pits. Start and Finish areas are unchanged. We will have current and former National Champions and National Trophy riders racing so please listen to the commissaire’s instructions with regards to gridding at the start and ensure that you are in the correct area. Thank you.
There will be race commentary in the park as usual.
Parking
All Parking to be at Macclesfield Learning Zone off Park Lane SK11 8LF. We have no formal agreement in place so if you do park there you must do so at your own risk. Please park only in the marked bays, not on any footpaths.
The Event is a short walk 5/10mins in South Park post code SK11 8AD.
Please do not park on any grass verge near to the park. If you do, we will ask you to move your vehicle immediately. Please do not take offence; we rely on the goodwill and co-operation of local residents to run this large-scale event. Thank you.
