A request from our neighbours:

Mid Shropshire Wheelers are delighted to be organising Round 4 of the British Cycling National Trophy Series on the weekend of Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th December 2026 at Shrewsbury Sports Village.
As many clubs will appreciate, attracting sufficient volunteers for major events is becoming increasingly challenging. To ensure this prestigious national event runs smoothly, we are therefore asking for the support of the local cycling community and neighbouring clubs to assist with marshalling.

What we are asking

The course requires 14 discrete marshal points
We are asking supporting clubs or organisation to provide two or four volunteers
2 Volunteers would be required on both Saturday and Sunday

Why this matters

Mid Shropshire Wheelers are proud to be promoting this event in order to:

  • Give local riders the opportunity to race at National Trophy level
  • Do so on a course and venue they know well, helping riders, especially younger riders, step up to national competition more confidently showcase Shropshire and the strength of our local cycling community on a national stage

    By confirming volunteer support at this early stage, it will allow us to:
  • Focus fully on course preparation and event administration
  • Plan staffing with confidence
  • Approach clothing and equipment partners for marshal uniform, as we have successfully done in previous years
